On 24th June, Teach West London welcomed Early Career Teacher Programme (ECTP) facilitators from across our partnership for our annual ECTP Conference. This year's event, Inquiry in Action: Elevating Facilitation through Revelatory Moments, focused on strengthening facilitation practice through adaptive approaches, collaborative inquiry and professional dialogue.

Building on the foundations explored throughout the programme, the conference provided an opportunity for facilitators to deepen their understanding of how to respond purposefully in the moment, creating the conditions for meaningful shifts in thinking and learning.

As part of the conference, delegates explored the concept of adaptive facilitation, considering how skilled facilitators identify misconceptions, use questioning and dialogue effectively and support participants to reach revelatory moments in their professional learning.

A key feature of the conference was the opportunity to learn from expert practice. David O'Connell, UCL Advanced Facilitator, shared practical approaches to creating impactful learning experiences for colleagues. He also shared his own reflections about the important work facilitators do in shaping the future generation of the profession.

Throughout the day, facilitators engaged with upcoming Year 2 modules, examining where participants may encounter misconceptions and discussing how resources can be adapted to meet the needs of different contexts while maintaining fidelity to programme design. The networking session provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues to share examples of how they have tailored materials for their own settings, generating rich professional discussion and strengthening collaboration across our partnership.

The conference reinforced Teach West London's commitment to high-quality professional development, ensuring facilitators are equipped not only with a deep understanding of programme content but also with the expertise to adapt their facilitation thoughtfully and responsively.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so openly throughout the very hot day. The willingness to share experiences, reflect collaboratively and continually refine practice is what makes our facilitator community so strong. We look forward to seeing these ideas brought to life in ECTP sessions across the partnership during the coming academic year.
