What qualification will I gain? You’ll spend one academic year (September 2025 – July 2026) working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You can also choose to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with St Mary’s University. 

How is the course structured? QTS only is four days a week training in school, and one day of professional development with Teach West London. With QTS + PGCE, it's the same structure as above, plus university-led sessions and PGCE assignments. 

What courses are available? All courses are offered on a non-salaried (fee-funded) pathway, with some subjects also available on a salaried route. View available subjects and routes here

What about financial support? There is generous government funding available – including tax-free bursaries of up to £29,000 and scholarships of up to £31,000 for high-priority subjects such as maths, science and computing. Learn more about funding here

What are the career prospects? Teaching is a career with clear progression and impact. Starting salaries for newly qualified teachers range from £36,412 to £38,766 in London.
